As a CSP you shall be responsible to support adults with disabilities of all ages to lead self-directed lives and contribute to and enhance inclusion in their communities. The CSP shall understand that individuals with disabilities requiring support who have one disability, such as mental illness, can also have another disability such as a cognitive disability, a substance abuse disorder, or a medical condition. These conditions are called co-occurring disorders. The CSP shall promote OHI‚ s welcoming and effective provision of supports to individuals with co-occurring disorders.

The CSP is responsible to assure that quality supports and services are provided to individuals with disabilities and that the philosophy of OHI is adhered to at all times. The CSP is responsible to assure that there is consistency in the supports provided to each person; that the communication among team members is effective; that duplication of efforts is eliminated; bureaucracy is reduced; that the small agency feeling is maintained; that a holistic approach is provided to each person; and best practices are used.

The CSP is also responsible for assisting each person to maintain the highest level of independence possible, because at OHI we believe everything is possible! The CSP shall provide modeling, cueing and coaching to assist each person to maintain daily living skills, remain oriented, healthy and safe; and to maintain community tenure. The CSP shall administer medications and first aid, provide safe transportation, assist with the coordination of medical and other support service appointments, maintain accurate and detailed documentation and records, and implement the philosophy, policies and procedures of OHI.
Starting pay as a CSP at OHI is $10.50hr / plus benefits
Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver‚ s License
  • MHRT-1 - Active/Inactive
  • 1 year experience in this field or similar industry

The Community Support Professional (CSP) shall have demonstrated ability to support individuals with disabilities; ability to work a flexible schedule; crisis prevention and intervention skills; a valid driver‚ s license and own vehicle for most positions.

Our starting wage is $10.50 per hour. Upon successful completion of either the CDS or MHSS curriculum, you will receive an additional $0.25 per hour. After you successfully complete the 40-Hour CRMA (medication administration) course, you will receive another pay increase of $0.25 per hour! Most new employees complete the training's noted above within six months of employment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
